Bargain number 1 ………..

My favourite high street shop is without question Whistles. There’s  obviously been peaks and troughs over the years but I always return as I love the fabrics (always good to shove in the machine) and just the general styling. However there is a but and that’s the prices, they seem to have dramatically increased to where you can easily spend £180 on a pair of trousers or £60 on a T-shirt.

I love a bargain, almost to the extent that I only rarely buy anything full price. And Whistles’ sales are the best around, as long as you can bear to hold your nerve and wait for the 70% discounts to appear. That’s what I love, having a really good quality bit for the price of something much worse quality from somewhere like Next or New Look.

imageThis dress is right up my street, totally forgiving, quirky material and good length. £33 down from £110. You can’t really see from the photo but there’s some gathering, for want of a better word, going on at the front which gives it a touch more interest than your bog standard shift dress. I’d also wear it with either a polo neck or white shirt underneath. This is the front runner for Christmas Day outfit as you can eat/drink as much as you like – there are no limits! I’m wearing it with Reiss suede shoe boots and Stella & Dot necklace.

Right, off to brave the Big Smoke and Hamleys with the kids, also going to Slava’s Snow Show which I’ve heard good things about. Only fly in the ointment is my daughter is just back from a sleepover – all four 9-years olds in one bed, very little sleep going on there! She’s like a black grumpy cloud on all the Christmas jollity around here!

Thanks for following.

    1. Thanks, I’ve had my money’s worth from those boots. I got them about 7 years ago – in the sale of course! They get trundled out on various occasions and I still love the colour and height of them.
