Let me tell you how Valentines Day works in our household. No cards, as all involve think it’s a complete waste of money. One year, many moons ago, husband did produce a card but it’s vaguely embarrassing if your romantic gesture is not returned so card giving has never been repeated. It’s not that I don’t love him, it’s just I find it a huge cringe jumping on the ‘Luurve’ bandwagon. Our actual first date was the day after Valentines Day and involved zero romantic gestures and drinking vat loads of Staropramen (those were the days of not being a complete lightweight) and I can only assume that this has set the tone for future years.
So yesterday there were no bunches of roses, cards or even a meal. The boys all went off to watch the Fulham match and the girls finally got to see La La Land which is actually quite a lovey dovey sort of film, but hey ho. Anyway a lovely day was had by all and not one love heart in sight.
Clockwise from top left; Jigsaw batwing dress £55 (was £139), H&M skinny biker jeans £14.99 (was £24.99), &Other Stories £25, Finery leather skirt £129, M&S culottes £45, Zara pleated skirt £49.99, Zara check midi dress £39.99
Red is obviously the colour of love and luckily one of my favourite colour. And there is a huge amount of red featuring in the new collections. The Jigsaw batwing dress has been around for a while now but is a great price. There’s only size Large online which would fit me as I like the oversized style and it comes up quite small. I have the M&S culottes in a mustard colour, and have lots of wear from them, particularly going to work.
So here I am in my Whistle red trousers that come out again and again and were brought in a far off sale for £20. Excuse the moody wolf who everyone thought was a penguin!
Worn with Warehouse top and J Shoes ankle boots.
